Many consumers put products in the shopping cart when researching and shopping online but never make the deal. Data from our North American Technographics online survey shows that shopping carts support consumers in their buying process, on the site and across sites.
eRetailers looking at reducing shopping cart abandonment should consider showing shipping and handling costs earlier in the process, or add a tool to their site that makes it easier for shoppers to save and compare products. The latter would especially appeal to female shoppers.
