Video: Guy Kawasaki on Social Media and Marketing in 2008
If you're reading this from a email subscription or feedreader, there's a video embedded above, if you can't see it, please visit the Forrester Marketing Blog to access. I was fortunate to have lunch with Guy Kawasaki, famed former Apple Evangelist, VC, Marketing Author, CEO of a startup, and hockey enthusiast. Right off the bat, I asked Guy what his predictions were for marketers in 2008, he suggested that due to conservative budgets that measurement and metrics will drive programs.
We also chatted about social media tools that he uses, and the success of how they integrate to promote his startup. Guy posts to a very popular blog, and in his most recent entry, he shares what he wants for Christmas in 2008. Happy new year everyone, have a great year!

Yes, that's really so. You never know what start-up will turn up successful. As Guys says it is a pure game. I would say it's a lottery.

Guy's comments on a possible recession were very interesting. I am concerned about the impact a recession would have however if businesses are going to look for greater analytics and accountability I think Internet Marketing will be the one to deliver. This could be its first true test.
