Forrester Certification provides industry recognition, supported by decades of research in leading business concepts such as customer experience (CX), security and risk (Zero Trust), and B2B marketing. If you’re looking to align your organization and transform your business, Forrester Certification empowers teams and leaders to execute with confidence so they can move faster together.

Certification courses are all-online, self-paced, and mobile-friendly to support microlearning moments you can apply immediately. Curated and taught by Forrester analysts, the courses primarily use short-format video, but you’ll also stay engaged through podcasts, webinars, and short case studies. This combination of interactive media, peer/social discussion forums, and hands-on exercises creates a dynamic learning experience that is fun and effective.

Each course typically includes five to eight competency-based modules. There are two levels of coursework to help you align your team and advance their learning:
The Core course is an eight-week cohort-based session that is facilitated to help you stay on track and be successful. Core course completion is a prerequisite for any Advanced course.
Advanced courses provide 90 days to complete a series of self-paced modules that go deeper into specific topics.

There are three ways to pursue certification as an individual or a team:

  • Join a cohort of learners from across industries and geographies at specific start dates.
  • Gather 20 or more staff from your organization and set your own start date in a private course.
  • Use our research-based lessons with examples and exercises specific to your organization to create a custom program.

Certification courses start on a regular basis. Many occur every month. See each discipline page (CX, B2B Marketing, Zero Trust) for exact dates. Customized enterprise-wide implementations are specific to your organization, can happen at any time, and are ongoing.

There are no specific time commitments or live attendance requirements. You set your own schedule. For teams of 20 or more, Forrester offers optional live kickoff sessions, specialized workshop sessions, and facilitated discussions to enhance understanding and help accelerate implementation of the concepts presented.

Our certification learners report spending 1–3 hours per module, for a total of 6–18 hours per course. We recommend a pace of roughly 1 module per week, although individual learning styles and times vary. Courses use a dynamic “microlearning” format that was designed with adult learning needs in mind and that works with busy schedules. It is a time commitment, but 94% of people who start a course, finish it.

Business transformation initiatives are cross-functional efforts. Stakeholders from multiple roles and levels of experience all have a key part to play in making a transformation successful. Certification is a powerful tool for:

  • Experienced professionals
  • Executive sponsors
  • Cross-functional collaborators

  • Individuals and teams

Teams are encouraged to participate together for increased collaboration and discussion opportunities, although each individual must submit their own work to receive credit.

If you’re looking to expand CX learning beyond individuals and teams, Forrester also provides customized programs for enterprise-wide implementation.

Custom Programs For Enterprise-wide Implementation
CX Essentials is a customized certification program that provides an enterprise-wide solution to mobilize employees around CX transformation initiatives. Tailored for your organization, course content engages all employees in a 1–3 hour short program to understand your organization’s CX imperative.

All programs begin with the core course. Core courses introduce and ground you in Forrester-specific language and concepts. They are NOT “general introduction courses” to basic marketing and CX—they provide specific instruction to understand the Forrester research and vocabulary on the topic.

Through core courses, you and your team develop a shared background and vocabulary to implement and use Forrester methodologies, mindset, and terminology consistently.

CMOs, marketing, and CX leaders are encouraged to take core courses with their teams, so they can:

  • Foster alignment on common vocabulary use across departments and divisions
  • Provide direction “from the top” on strategy and concepts, process and mindset for staff
  • Support team leaders on how to apply frameworks and tools within their specific situation
  • Lead by example: show executive support for a critical initiative to change how the business will operate

There are no prerequisites for Level I Core courses in CX, B2B Marketing, or Zero Trust. Core course completion is a prerequisite for any Advanced course. This has little to do with your level of experience and everything to do with establishing a common understanding of Forrester’s approach, frameworks, and vocabulary.

Advanced courses can be taken in any order to provide flexibility and prioritize critical business needs.

Each time you complete a course within a discipline, you’ll also level up. So someone who has completed the Core course would be Level 1, someone who completed the Core course and one Advanced class would be Level 2, someone who completed the Core course and two Advanced classes would be Level 3, and so on.

Upon course completion and verification, you’ll receive a signed digital certificate, badge, and suggested email signature addition to recognize your achievement. Post your digital badge to professional social networking sites to showcase your credentials.

Yes, Workforce Certification is available. If 100 or more of your staff are certified with Forrester, you can showcase this milestone of your organization’s commitment to industry best practices and professional development.

Currently, you have the option to pursue CPE/CEU credits within the Zero Trust Certification program. The core Zero Trust certification takes an average of 9–18 hours to complete; total time to complete varies by individual learner. Learners of complementary certifications may be able to claim CPE credit for time spent obtaining their Zero Trust Strategy certification. Forrester advises 9-18 hours as the minimum CPE hours for certification earners; learners may be able to report additional self-study hours.
